Homemade Zombie Halloween Costumes Tips and Tricks

One of the most diverse and wide costumes out there is actually the Zombie costume. You have the freedom to create whatever you like for your Zombie as they are just people risen from the dead. There are a few things that must be kept in tack to create a good Zombie costume though. The clothing should be ripped, burned and very tattered it should also look like it's been rotting in a grave for many years. A few good examples are the 3-d Zombie, Punk Zombie and Zombie Doctor costumes.

Homemade Zombie Costume
A Homemade Zombie costume is actually rather simple and do-able. Unfortunately though, unless you have crazy good face-paint skills you won't have ribs or bones showing like the zombie picture to the right. This is OK as you're probably saving money and people will still know what your costume is. To create your own Homemade Zombie costume you will need the following items

• Old oversized clothing
• Other colored clothing
• Fabric Glue
• Face Paint / Zombie Mask

To create the zombie costume you simply have to take the oversized clothing and starting cutting it up into shred. Then cut the other old clothing into strips, patches or whatever other shape and glue it to the oversized cut clothing. Your goal is to make the oversized clothing look tattered, beaten, scratched up and very very used. You may have to grab some charcoal and make the clothing look worn. Another way (not kid safe) is to use a lighter and burn holes or dark patches into the clothing.

For the Zombie face you have two options. First is using face paint to come up with something scary using your imagination or this guide. You will then want to add a long-haired messy wig to complete the Zombie costume. Another option is to get a Zombie Halloween Mask which can really put the whole costume together and save you money as you're only buying the mask and not whole outfit.
