Fast, Easy and Simple Homemade Halloween Costume Ideas

It's Halloween night. You have no costume and your friend just called telling you about a great costume party. Oh snap, what are you going to do? You need a costume fast!

If you have a tickle-trunk (bag of random clothes / costumes) grab that bag and start going through it to see what you can come up with. There are a few costumes that are a very simple to make and can usually be assembled from random items in your tickle trunk. Luckily these can also be assembled from random clothes throughout the house.

Lady / Man
One of the easiest costumes going is to dress like the opposite sex. If you live with someone from the opposite sex just borrow their clothing, make up, aftershave, etc... Do it up right and people will think you've been planning it for a while!

Crazed Sports Fan
The crazed sports fan is an easy costume as you simply gather up all your paraphernalia for the sports team and carry it around with you. This is NOT a good costume if the paraphernalia is worth money as it might be damaged or broken but it is an easy costume to create!

The Pimp
Another great unisex costume is the pimp or ho costume. If you're a mail collect your 'pimpest' looking clothes, put on a few pieces (the more the merrier) of bling and get a cane walking stick (or funky hat) and you've become a pimp.

Groovy 70's Costume
The groovy 70's costume is a super simple costume if you have a tickle trunk with multi-colored clothing. Simply put together the most-colorful outfit possible and you can become the 70's groovy chick/guy.

Ghost
This is possibly the easiest costume but also not the most creative. A white sheet, cut out a few eyes and you have a ghost.

Grab a sheet and wrap it around your body to look like a toga. This is much easier with a

Cereal Killer
On your way to the party stop at your local supermarket. Buy 8 boxes of mini-cereal, a pack of plastic knives and some super-adhesive glue. Stab the knife in the cereal box and glue to your clothes.

Other ideas
Witch - Dress all in black and get a black witch hat
Nurse - Scrubs or all solid colored clothing
Cat - All in black, draw wiskers on face
Mad Scientist - Lab coat and mess up your hair

Whatever you decided to do be sure to roll with the punches. One Halloween I was in this situation and all I could find was a black hat, jean shirt and jeans. I put it all on and said I was a "cowboy", however, on the way to the party everyone said I looked more like an Amish then a cowboy. Soooo, I quickly became the Amish Cowboy and everyone thought it was hilarious.
