Sonic The Hedgehog Halloween Costume
One of the most popular video game character of all time is Sonic The Hedgehog. Unfortunately, you can't purchase a pre-made Sonic The Hedgehog Halloween costume anywhere online (are you listening BuyCostumes.com?). Instead, we have to create our own Sonic The Hedgehog costume from things we can put together ourselves. Luckily, with a little work and creativity you can come up with a really great Sonic costume that you know that NOBODY else at the party will have!
Sonic The Hedgehog Costume
You will need the following items to create the costume
- Sonic The Hedgehog Blue Cap
- Sonic The Hedgehog White Gloves
- Royal Blue Jumpsuit or Blue shirt and pants (be sure they are matching)
- Red and White Electrical Tape
- Tan Fabric
- Fabric Glue
Using the Sonic The Hedgehog to the right, take the tan fabric and measure it out for the chest and arms. Cut it out and use the fabric glue to attach to the chest and arms. Using the red and white electrical tape turn your shoes into Sonic The Hedgehog shoes. The shoes should be all red with a white stripe over the middle. Once the mask, shirt, pants, gloves and shoes are on you'll look just like Sonic the Hedgehog!
If you're looking to create a group Sonic The Hedgehog costume than simply buy a different colored cap, shirt and pants. You can find caps in the following Sonic The Hedgehog characters.

Homemade Surfer Costume – One Of The Easiest Halloween Costume
One of the easiest Halloween costumes of all time is the Surfer dude or Surfer Dudette costume. This costume is so great as it's easy to put together with your summer clothes and summer accessories. Another option is to go for the 'old school' surfer look like Sean Penn in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. If you are wanting to kick the costume "up a notch" then consider making your own surf-board.
Surfer Dude Costume
The surfer costume consists of board shorts, Hawaiian shirt or simply a button up-shirt with it undone and sunglasses. You can add zinc to your nose, surfer dude hair and a lei to add accessories to the costume but isn't completely necessary.

A homemade surf board
The homemade surf-board can be made quite easily with the right pieces. You will need a large piece of cardboard which can be found in a recycling container outside of a big box store (Walmart, Best Buy, Target, etc..). You will also need paint and decorations. Simply cut the card-board into the shape of a surfboard. Then paint the board a full color to cover up the writing on the cardboard. Then start decorating with whatever design you'd like!

The sexy energizer bunny costume is based on the energizer bunny but is called the Sexergizer Bunny. The costume consists of a spandex crop top, booty shorts, ears and a fake drum with the words "Keeps Going and Going" printed on it. This costume is definitely NOT for the shy but does make a sexy good costume!
Homemade Energizer Bunny Costume
To create a home-made energzier bunny costume you will need two main pieces the Bunny Costume and the Energizer Bunny Drum. The bunny costume can be made by following a pattern, however, we recommend buying a Pink Bunny costume as it will look much more realistic and it can be reused for Easter! Check out more pink bunny costumes here. A homemade Energizer bunny drum is explained below. The final pieces you'll need are accents for the costume which include attaching an energizer battery to your back, black sunglasses and/or carrying around a plush energizer bunny.
Energizer Bunny Drum
The drum can be made quite simply with a few pieces of construction paper. You will need two medium pieces and 1 large piece depending on the size of the drum. Simply cut out two circles from the medium sized construction paper. On these you can write the words "Energizer" or "Energizer Bunny" or even "Going, Going, Going, ..." With the large piece but out the circumferience of the circles (the length of the outside of the circle) as wide as you want the drum to be. Now simply tape (or glue) the three pieces together to make a drum. For the sticks you can use chopsticks or real drumsticks if you have them!
Putting together an Energizer Bunny costume may require more work than another costume. However, the results will also turn out much better. And remember, you will have a reputation of Going and going and going and going......
Glow in the Dark Homemade Halloween Costumes
A great halloween costume idea is the Glow in the Dark Halloween costume! This is a really fun costume as most Halloween events happen in the dark so this is the perfect costume! Whether you're trick-or-treating or heading to a nightclub the Glow In The Dark costume will make you seen. Plus, everyone loves a good glow in the dark stick so why not take it a step further!
Homemade Glow In The Dark Costume
The homemade glow in the dark costume is actually rather simple to put together. You simply need to find yourself black pants, shirt, socks, shoes and hat (Balaclava or ski mask). You will also need fabric glue and between 16-40 glow sticks depending on the thickness and length of each glowstick. Of course, you can always glue more glow sticks on your costume to make an even brighter costume!
You then glue each glowstick to your clothing in whatever shape/style you want. We recommend choosing the most common "male" and "female" stick figures as the glowstick patterns. That way everyone knows if you're a guy or a girl and it's a fairly basic design. Right before going out trick-or-treating or heading to the club you will 'snap' all the glowsticks to activate the costume. Depending on the glowstick you will have approximately 4-12 hours of glow time.
Alternatively, you can purchase the Glow In The Dark costume which operates on batteries rather than glow sticks. This is good if you are planning to attend more than 1 nights worth of parties!

One of the easiest homemade costumes is the geek or geeky Halloween costume. It's a very simple costume because most people have all the supplies at home they just need to put it all together to make the costume!
The geek or nerd halloween costume requires the following
- Pants
- Suspenders (not necessary)

If you have a tickle-trunk (bag of random clothes / costumes) grab that bag and start going through it to see what you can come up with. There are a few costumes that are a very simple to make and can usually be assembled from random items in your tickle trunk. Flight Of The Conchords – Homemade Robot Costumes
Flight Of The Conchords the TV show about the New Zealand band makes a great Halloween costume. You can dress up as Brett, Jemaine, Murray and Mel and it makes a great Group Halloween Costume. A fun play on the Flight of the Concords normal costume is to dress up as one of their many music song characters, in this case the Robots!
To make the robots just like the Flight Of The Conchords is actually rather simple. You will need the following supplies:
- Cardboard box (must be large enough to fit your shoulders)
- Cardboard box (must be able to fit your head)
- Two empty plastic water bottles
- Silver paint
- Flexible Ducting Pipe
- Colored paint for buttons
To create the Flight Of The Conchords Robots costume
- Assemble the costume so that it fits over your shoulders
- Cut arm holes in cardboard box
- Cut stove pipe to length of arms so that it in holes on side of box
- Glue pieces of paper to create buttons (or nipples as Jemaine calls them) to the front
- Paint the entire thing silver
- Paint the buttons different colors
- Cut box to fit the size of your head
- Cut hole in front to see out of
- Cut the tops of off the water bottes and glue to the side of the head piece
- Paint the entire thing silver

Homemade Zombie Halloween Costumes Tips and Tricks
One of the most diverse and wide costumes out there is actually the Zombie costume. You have the freedom to create whatever you like for your Zombie as they are just people risen from the dead. There are a few things that must be kept in tack to create a good Zombie costume though. The clothing should be ripped, burned and very tattered it should also look like it's been rotting in a grave for many years. A few good examples are the 3-d Zombie, Punk Zombie and Zombie Doctor costumes.
Homemade Zombie Costume
A Homemade Zombie costume is actually rather simple and do-able. Unfortunately though, unless you have crazy good face-paint skills you won't have ribs or bones showing like the zombie picture to the right. This is OK as you're probably saving money and people will still know what your costume is. To create your own Homemade Zombie costume you will need the following items
- Old oversized clothing
- Other colored clothing
- Fabric Glue
- Face Paint / Zombie Mask
To create the zombie costume you simply have to take the oversized clothing and starting cutting it up into shred. Then cut the other old clothing into strips, patches or whatever other shape and glue it to the oversized cut clothing. Your goal is to make the oversized clothing look tattered, beaten, scratched up and very very used. You may have to grab some charcoal and make the clothing look worn. Another way (not kid safe) is to use a lighter and burn holes or dark patches into the clothing.
For the Zombie face you have two options. First is using face paint to come up with something scary using your imagination or this guide. You will then want to add a long-haired messy wig to complete the Zombie costume. Another option is to get a Zombie Halloween Mask which can really put the whole costume together and save you money as you're only buying the mask and not whole outfit.
